Dining in Sitges: Sitges offers a wide variety of international cuisine for all tastes and budgets, from simple "fast food" to more sophisticated cuisine. Your day will start off with numerous local cafés and bakeries (pastelerías) offering an assortment of fresh baked breads, pastries and fresh squeezed juices. At lunch time (served between 1:00-3:30 pm) you will find plenty of restaurants offering their "menú del día" (set menu) which typically includes a starter, main course, dessert or coffee and a drink (water, soft drink or beer) for very reasonable prices. If you´re on the beach, look for the popular "chiringuitos" which are beach front bars offering drinks, snacks and sometimes full meals. Dinner is typically served from 8:30 pm-11:00 pm and the selection is enormous. Practically any kind of dish you´re looking for is available (Spanish, Mediterranean, French, Italian, British, American, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai, to mention just a few. From simple take away menus to a more sophisticated sit-down meal are all easily available in Sitges.
Another very popular dining alternative is "Tapas" which are the spanish version of Hors D´oeuvres. They are typically served with a drink (a glass of beer or wine) and popular during early evening hours (a kind of "happy hour" snack), on weekends before lunch time and also a lighter alternative to a full lunch or dinner.
